Jon Odom, Lead Pastor
Jon Odom is a lifelong Tulsan. He graduated from Metro Christian Academy (’04), Oral Roberts University (BA in English Bible, ’08) and Asbury Theological Seminary (Masters of Divinity, ’15). He and his wife Emily were high school sweethearts and dated long-distance through college. Upon finishing undergraduate studies, Jon and Emily got married and moved to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to serve as missionaries. In 2010, Jon joined the staff at Asbury UMC in south Tulsa, focusing on young adults. Jon and Emily are parents to Libby, Sam and Gideon. In early 2017, Pastor Tom Harrison and Asbury’s leadership decided to send Jon to midtown with a small launch team to start a new church to help reach new people for Christ.Jon and Emily were motivated to launch Cornerstone Church not because Tulsa had a shortage of churches, but out of a recognition that there are endless needs for new energy cycles in church communities. Jon freely admits that Cornerstone Church is not up to anything new— we’re actually up to something quite old. We’re cultivating a community shaped by the gospel for the renewal of all things.
