Sundays at Cornerstone
9:30 + 11 AM at 4803 South Lewis
What to Expect
Worship gatherings are an integral part of shaping us in our life together as a church, and, when we gather for worship as the people of Cornerstone Church, everyone contributes. Each week, different members of the Cornerstone community lead prayers, read Scriptures, and share their stories. As a family, we then take time to reflect on the Scriptures and thoughtfully consider how the Holy Spirit is leading us to grow as a community shaped by the gospel for the renewal of all things. Last, we celebrate Holy Communion together every Sunday. Typical worship gatherings last about 75 minutes and people usually linger afterward to get to know new friends, catch up, and encourage each other.
Everyone is welcome to participate in our Sunday worship gatherings. We currently meet at 9:30 and 11 AM on Sundays in the Ascension Chapel of the Lutheran Ministry Center. Whether you’re just getting started in your faith or you’re a mature disciple of Jesus; whether you’re unsure of what you believe or you totally disagree with what we believe; in the name of Jesus we say, “you are welcome.”
Jesus said kids are the property owners of God’s kingdom (Mark 10:14), so we hold our kids in a place of honor in the Cornerstone community. When you enter the Chapel on Sunday mornings, go ahead and check-in ALL kids 6 weeks - third grade. After checking them in, preschool and younger can go straight back to their classes (signs will lead the way). Those classes will open at 9:20 and 10:50. If your child is in Kindergarten-Third grade, they will participate in the songs and prayers during the worship service with parents/guardians and then be dismissed back to their class after a blessing. Older children are encouraged to stay in the service with their parents. We will add programming for our older students as Cornerstone grows and develops.
