Care Ministry at Cornerstone

There should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
— 1 Corinthians 12.25-26

Why Care Ministry?

Care ministry is crucial to the flourishing of a community shaped by the gospel for the renewal of all things. We believe community is a network of friendships under the Lordship of Christ, recognizing that each of us are interconnected and interdependent on one another for our discipleship, care, and flourishing. We also know how important it is to take seriously Jesus’ command to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mk 12.30-31) as well as Paul’s admonition to bear one another’s burdens (Gal 6.2).

How to Give and Receive Care

Giving Care

  • Meal team: The meal team works to get homemade meals for folks experiencing crisis, grief, or acute moments of challenge. To serve on this team, fill out this form.

  • Prayer team: This team receives and prays over anonymous prayer requests and its members serve as prayer partners on Sunday mornings in both services. To serve on the prayer team, email Care Pastor, Nina Read.

  • Care companions: This team is composed of Cornerstone members who have received training to pray for and companion other members of the church who are suffering for as long as their needs persist.
