CORNERSTONE KIDS
LEARN GOD’S STORY, LOVE GOD’S STORY, & LIVE IN GOD’S STORY.
The mission of Cornerstone Kids is to partner with families to provide a safe learning environment where kids: learn God’s story, love God’s story, and live in God’s story through gospel-centered teaching, Anglican formation, prayer-rich environments, and meaningful peer and adult connections.
SUNDAY MORNINGS
9:00 & 11:00 AM

Arrival
When you arrive, check your child(ren) in using the iPads in the Kid’s check-in lobby. Place their name tag on them, take note of what room your child has been assigned to, and keep the parent code for pickup. If the room is incorrect, notify a Kid’s staff member or volunteer so the room can be changed.
Drop-off
Children ages six weeks through preschool (five years or kindergarten) may be dropped off by parents/guardians ten minutes before the start of the service. Your child must have their name tag on, and there must be two adult volunteers present in the room before you leave your child. If two adults are not present, please notify Megan Davis or Aubrey Jimerson. If you bring a diaper bag or bottles, please make sure they are labeled with your child’s name.
Children in elementary grades- first through fifth grade will begin in the sanctuary service with their family and will be dismissed to their classrooms after worship. After dismissal from the sanctuary, elementary kids will meet in the Kids Lobby where teachers will lead them upstairs to their classrooms.
We encourage parents to drop children off at the classroom door rather than entering the room to help maintain a calm environment.
Pick-up
A parent or guardian must pick up a child from their classroom. Older siblings may not pick up younger siblings, even with a matching tag. The parent pickup code is required. If you misplace it, please reprint your child’s tag at the check-in station. This policy is for your child’s safety and must always be followed.

Crying Policy
If your child cries consistently for five minutes, we will text you. If you prefer a different timing, let your child’s teachers know so we can note it.Family Room
We have a Family Room available at any time during services. It includes toys, seating, and a nearby family bathroom with a changing table. Additional changing tables are available in the men’s and women’s restrooms.Nursing Room
Our Nursing Room is located just inside the Kids Check-In Lobby. It contains rocking chairs, a changing table, diapers, and wipes for mothers and babies to use.Diaper Changing in Classrooms
Adult female volunteers will change diapers as needed, always in the presence of another adult. If you would prefer to be contacted to change your own child’s diaper, please let the teacher know at drop-off. We will use classroom diapers and wipes unless you request that we use the supplies you provide.Bathroom Breaks for Little Ones
Volunteers stand outside the bathroom with the door slightly ajar in case help is needed. They will only enter if a child needs help with clothing and will never assist with wiping. If your child needs to be wiped, you will be contacted to come and do so. The bathroom door remains open whenever an adult enters. Only adult females may assist children in the bathroom.Bathroom Breaks for Older Kids
Volunteers stand in the hallway outside the bathroom. If clothing assistance is needed, the child will step out of the stall into the open area. Volunteers never enter a stall with a child. Only adult females may assist children. If a child has physical limitations and cannot get on the toilet alone, two adult females must assist either in the handicap stall or the family bathroom.Bathroom Accidents
If an accident occurs, parents will be asked to come and change their child while the Supervisor cleans up. Volunteers do not clean a child. Each classroom has an emergency set of clothes that may be borrowed and returned clean the next Sunday.Food Allergies
Each class has a snack time on Sundays. Age-appropriate snacks are provided, with gluten and dairy free options available. To protect children with allergies, we ask that no outside food be brought into classrooms. Allergies should appear on your child’s name tag. If not, please contact Megan Davis or Aubrey Jimerson, and inform volunteers at drop-off if you have special requests. Baby rooms serve baby puffs, toddler and preschool rooms serve Cheerios, and elementary rooms serve granola bars and fruit strips.Discipline
We do not discipline children. Instead, we coach, redirect, and help children make good choices. If needed, we may separate a child within the room. If behavior continues to be disruptive, we will contact parents.Well Child Policy
To maintain a healthy environment, please keep children home if they have persistent coughing, sneezing, runny eyes or nose, stomachache or vomiting, earache, diarrhea, fever of 100.4 or higher (must be fever free for 24 hours), or unexplained rashes. If a child develops symptoms during class, they will be separated from others while we contact the parent. Exceptions are made for children with diagnosed allergies that mimic cold symptoms.Injuries
Every classroom has a first aid kit for treating minor injuries. Parents will be notified if an injury involves blood, a visible mark, or any head injury. Volunteers will complete an incident report to review with the parent. Copies are available upon request.Medication
We do not administer any medications to children.

Curriculum
Cornerstone Kids uses an Anglican curriculum called God’s Big Story. Beginning in preschool, children hear and read Bible stories, participate in hands-on activities, sing, pray, and play together. Older children begin memorizing scripture and catechesis as part of their learning.

Special Needs Ministry
We desire to welcome every child and provide accommodations as needed. If a child needs additional support, we pair them with a buddy who helps them engage and succeed. Buddy pairings must be arranged before Sunday so we can be prepared. To begin this process, please contact Aubrey Jimerson.
